Medical Assistant 1: Administrative

This is the first course in a three-part series focusing on administrative and introductory basic clinical skills. Students learn to use electronic medical records, perform administrative duties, medical terminology and introductory and physiology. Training includes taking vitals, administering injections, and blood sugar testing. Completion of this course alone does not qualify students to work as a Medical Assistant; all three courses are required. First class starts on Saturday, April 18th 8:30am Del Norte HS, Rm P116. Follow-up classes are online Mon & Wed from 6-9pm and the on-site lab is Sat, 8:30am-2:30pm at Del Norte High School, Room P116.

Prerequisite:  Must participate in a Medical Assistant Information session or an individual meeting with Michele Blanchard, Mblanchard@powayusd.com prior to registration.
