Become a Court Reporter and enter a well-paying career. Court Reporters create word-for-word transcriptions at trials, depositions, and other legal proceedings. This program consists of 6 Modules. Each Module is 11 weeks long. You may expect to practice 12 hours a week in addition to attending classes. The course runs a minimum of 18 months depending on student's practice time. Additionally, you will complete a Court Reporting Internship of 40 hours (20 hours in court and 20 hours in depositions) and a production of a 40-page transcript. Upon completion of the 6 modules and prior to Certification, there is a preparation (lab and self-study) where you will be given materials to study on your own. Once program requirements are complete, students will be qualified to sit for the National Shorthand Reporter Exam (RPR).

You will learn brief forms for writing thousands of the most common words and phrases and a phonetic-based system for writing all words.
