This course prepares students to take the Nurse Assistant Certification Exam. Instruction covers basic nursing skills, medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology and is taught by a licensed nurse. Students spend over 180 hours learning theory and skills in a clinical setting. Theory hours are taught online via Zoom. Clinical skills hours occur in person. Students must have a computer with Internet, audio and video to participate in this course.
The program meets Friday evenings on Zoom from 4:00-8:00 pm and in-person on Saturdays from 7:30 am-4:00 pm. Registered students MUST register for and attend one of the free online Information Sessions / Orientations and attend the mandatory in-person meeting on Thursday, August 8, from 4:00-8:00 pm. No absences are allowed during the first 20 hours of this course. This course meets over most School holiday breaks. Students are advised to be aware of all class dates.”
