This course prepares students to take the Nurse Assistant Certification Exam. Instruction covers basic nursing skills, medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology and is taught by a licensed nurse. Students spend over 180 hours learning theory and skills in a clinical setting. Theory hours are taught online via Zoom. Clinical skills hours occur in person. Students must have a computer with Internet, audio and video to participate in this course.
The program meets Friday evenings on Zoom from 4:00-8:00 pm and in-person on Saturdays from 7:30 am-4:00 pm. On Thursday, January 18, from 4:00-8:00 pm , there will be a mandatory meeting at DNHS in room P116. No absences are allowed during the first 20 hours of this course. This course meets over the School holiday breaks. Students are advised to be aware of all class dates.
Registered students MUST sign up for and attend one of the free information sessions.
